Release Name: 4.0.0-rc-1 Notes: This is the first release candidate of SQL Clinic 4. Extensive testing has been completed and at this point we have frozen the code and offer this release-candidate as a stable package. This package is *** still being scrutinized *** prior to the release of a final Version 4.0.0. Please report any problems that you may find. -- Release Name: 4.0.0-beta-2 Notes: This is the third beta release of SQL Clinic 4. It contains numerous bug fixes but also some additional utilities (under reports and dba) which were not intended to be released until 4.1. Due to circumstances beyond our control this beta version is a radically different beast than 4.0.0-beta-1. As we were prepping the beta package to become a release condidate (finishing help files and writing bug fixes) the Department of Housing and Urban Development released a finalized version of the new CSV file specification for their Homeless Management Information System (HMIS.info). As a result the homeless section of SQL Clinic has been completely rewritten and this new module is in use at several agencies in New York City. Recent data uploads (to the Dept of Homeless Services in NYC) have gone reasonably well using the module, however, revisions are inevitable. For this reason we are releasing beta-2 and expect at least a beta-3 prior to a release candidate. This package is still being tested. Please report any problems. Fixed: * Broken UPDATE in /charting/inpatient_eob.cgi (E.R. visit documentation script). * Broken DELETE in /oasas/progress_note.cgi (substance abuse progress notes script). * Client Search (SQLClinic::client_search() ) fixed - on rare occasions where it returned exactly 4 matches if would fail. Added: * Apache .htaccess in document root to block access to SQLClinic module (redundant security measure). * Installation help in install-win32 and install-unix directories * Online Help System * Password generator, password test (strength test), password expiration feature -- Release Name: 4.0.0-beta-1 Notes: This is the second beta release of SQL Clinic 4. *** this release fixes a broken SEQUENCE found in beta-0 and includes an upgrade script previously unavailable *** As with beta-0 this package is still being tested. Please report any problems. (There is no windows zip archive for beta-1 available for download as sourceforge's broken UI insisted on making the win32 zip file the default download. It isn't ready for primetime and so it was removed. If you would like a copy send us a note). -- ** Release Notes for SQL Clinic Version 4.0.0 ** This is beta code - please report any problems. It is a complete rewrite of SQL Clinic and reflects the fact that it follows five years after the last stable release (2.3.1 in 2004). There are no help files, no billing module and no frills in this beta release. The upgrade scripts (SQL source that modifies the database schema) are also not finished and are not included here. All of these items will be included in the first non-beta release, or earlier, if possible. If you would like an upgrade script to use at your own risk, drop us a line. The new code should be relatively stable, however, we'd appreciate hearing about any bugs. About the Major Version iteration: Shortly after the Iraq War began we were approached by a team of progressive programmers from Portland, Oregon. They were interested in porting SQL Clinic for mental health clinics in Oregon. We collaborated with our colleagues (most of whom were in Free Geek at the time) on what was to be SQL Clinic 3 until it became clear that modifications needed for Oregon's regulatory bodies, the target client population and the agency funding the work were not compatible with the generic source tree. In addition, SQL Clinic developers were looking to remove any perl modules that are not commonly available on the average web host as many of our clients use web hosts. This conflicted with the desire of the Portland programmers to use template::toolkit in order to exploit its advanced features. An amicable parting of the ways resulted in SQL Clinic 3 (Portland) going its own way (and eventually becoming Elemental Clinic, now produced and supported by Open Sourcery). The rewrite of SQL Clinic 2 (New York) became SQL Clinic 4 after the project forked. In addition to a project fork the SQL Clinic team has changed. In a tragic series of events two of our key members, Peter Puckall and Ariel Brosh, both died during the rewrite. In happier news, Ingo Assenmacher married and left the project (and is soon to be a father!) The Regina Project thus folded and the new SQL Clinic team consists of Thomas Good (programmer), Thomas Miles (documentation) and Alf Stockton (web host).
